Event for parents
The Living Education Retreat (LER) is an annual weekend event that focuses on the philosophy of Charlotte Mason. People from all over the world gather to consider a living education through deep discussions, shared meals, outdoor activities, beautiful worship, and inspiring presentations. This is truly a retreat. We want it to refresh and revive your heart, soul, and mind so we practice the Charlotte Mason philosophy in how we form the retreat by scheduling time for pondering, processing, and playing. It will be July 7-9th, 2022 at Lake Koronis, MN. We are in our 16th year! Find out more here - https://sageparnassus.com/living-education-retreat/ or join our Facebook page here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/105274907231

We meet about 16-20 weeks per year once, twice, or three times per week. We host 2 nature hikes per month in Fall and Spring. Our signature classes that we have most every term are: Shakespeare, Ballet, Folk Dancing, and Liaterature. Our aim is to create the best possible atmosphere for kids to learn and for “Cottage” day to be every kid’s favorite day of the week. We also regularly hold CM Volume study groups for parents as well as the Natural State Charlotte Mason Retreat.
“We spread an abundant and delicate feast in the programmes and each small guest assimilates what he can” (Charlotte Mason, Vol. 6, p. 183).
Spread the Feast Community is a community for home educators and families in Shelby County and the surrounding areas interested in learning about the Charlotte Mason method and philosophy of education. Our primary goal is to be a place of encouragement for parents on their homeschooling journey, and to grow in community with one another.
We also provide learning opportunities for the children so they too can grow in community and friendship with one another. Spread the Feast is open to all that are interested in learning more about the Charlotte Mason method and philosophy of education. We welcome CM veterans, those transitioning to CM, those that are just beginning to learn about CM, those that are simply curious about CM, and everyone in between.
We host 2 book discussions a month- a daytime one for adults and kids of all ages and an evening one for parents and "babes in arms." We also have mother culture and family events, clubs (scouting, nature), nature outings, "early years" meet-ups, and more!
