Introduction to Charlotte Mason – a Summer Series
If you find yourself here, you've heard the name Charlotte Mason. Maybe you know she encouraged time outside, or used books to teach many subjects, but youāre not sure her ideas could help you or your children.
Whether youāre homeschooling or not, Charlotte Masonās wisdom centers on who children are and what they need, which transcends beyond education, impacting our parenting and the culture of your home.
If youāre curious to learn how Miss Masonās philosophy can inspire wonder, build connection, and foster good habits, I hope youāll consider joining me for a summer discussion group!
Weāll meet 3 to 6 times between June-August. Itās free, weāll meet at a public location in Richardson, you can come once or every time, and there will be no pre-reading required.
āOur aim in education is to give a full life.ā -Charlotte Mason, School Education pg. 171

Inspiration & Delight — a conference in Seymour, TN, July 19th 2025.
Saturday, July 19, 2025 in Seymour, TN
We are excited to announce the first year of Inspiration and Delight, a conference for Charlotte Mason educators, featuring Donna-Jean Breckenridge as our keynote speaker on the topics of atmosphere, discipline, and life. Charlotte Mason said we are limited to using these three tools in the education of our children. Understanding these fundamental ideas is essential to following her philosophy and method, but it can be difficult to fully grasp these concepts. Breakout sessions with Lani Siciliano (language arts and narration), Jeannette Tulis (nature study), and RaeAnna Goss (music) are also scheduled. We hope you will be able to join us for this day of encouragement ā a day that will refresh your understanding of Charlotte Masonās principles and renew your delight in this way of educating and living.

Commonplace of Arlington
This is a discussion and support group for parents who are interested in or are already using the philosophy of Charlotte Mason in their home school.
For the '25-'26 school year, we are working through "Start Here," a study guide by Brandy Vencel. This is a great study for new-comers to the philosophy, but it also has plenty to ponder for the experienced. We will have time each meeting to talk about what's happening in our own home schools and celebrate the good as well as share ideas for those trouble spots. Meetings will be one Saturday morning each month.
We will have occasional outings and events for parents and children.
Reach out for more details and tell me why you are interested in joining a Charlotte Mason discussion group. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Cottage Co-op
Cottage Co-op is a riches co-op for students aged 6 to 12 years old.
Our Friday meetings begin with gathering all together as families for
our folk song and hymn, announcements, and benediction.
Forms 1 & 2 enjoy time in Collective learning about a classic poet, artist,
and composer. Forms 1 & 2 also alternate weekly between nature study
or handicrafts. Both forms then end their co-op day with a game time
devoted to play, listening skills, and folk dances.
A typical Kinderleben class spends the first portion playing outside
making mud pies, rolling around in leaves, and searching for the largest
worms. We come inside to read stories and poems, recite a bible verse,
and learn new fingerplays. We might play with wooden train tracks or
clay, or practice sewing before all working together to clean up.

Open House – Learning pod for 1st -3rd graders
Dear family in Jesus, š
My husband, Peter, is the teacher for this pod. He is trained under Ampleside. And Joanna is the mom who is hosting it in her home. You will find her lovely blog here: http://heartforchristschools.blogspot.com/2025/02/our-journey-with-glenbrook-christian.html.
The reason Iām excited to share this learning pod opportunity with families is because I think that they would appreciate its uniquely nurturing and Christ centered setting. Because it is very small, the children receive quality attention to help them flourish in every way. The learning experience encourages them to interact with Jesus in every moment and idea as they discover their full and beautiful design in His likeness.
Look forward to meeting you and your child in person! I will have the pleasure and honor to be spending time with the little ones during open house. I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for more than 15 years.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about this and please do share widely!

Ambleside-by-the-Sea
Ambleside-by-the-Sea is a parent-led, two-day-a-week homeschool collaborative providing students from preschool through high school years with a Charlotte Mason education. We use living books, narration, and short lessons that spread a wide āfeastā across varied subjects. We seek to provide an environment that allows our children to come into direct contact with vital and living ideas from great minds, and to nurture students in forming relations with all that is about them in substance and idea: in words, music, art, science, nature, mathematics, and all that is good, true, and beautiful.
We cover subjects including:
Math Drill / Math Lab / Math Games
Natural History / Science / Nature Notebooking
U.S. History
Ancient History
Plutarchās āLivesā (Forms III & IV)
Childrenās Plutarch (Form II)
Shakespeare
Literature
Geography / Map Drill / Map Making
Poetry / Recitation
Latin (Forms III & IV)
Music / Folk Dancing / Composer Study
Art / Artist Study
Handicrafts
P.E.: Swedish Drill
We also have additional events together as a community including three book club meetings each year for all ages, and one or two handicraft fairs.
Because our intent is to cover academic subjects as well as those subjects often considered āenrichment subjects,ā we meet twice weekly and in some ways function similarly to a āuniversity model school;" families can structure their days at home to fill in around the spines and core subjects we cover on our days together. Upper form students have several assignments to complete during their days at home, including literature and writing assignments, and science readings in preparation for science experiments done together.
Ambleside-by-the-Sea moms also meet monthly to read and discuss Charlotte Mason's volumes, and we are always happy to have more people join us!

Charlotte Mason New England
We are an intergenerational group of homeschool mothers who apply Charlotte Mason's principles in our home schools and co-ops.
We originally bonded over our love of Charlotte Mason's methods for a literature-based, whole-person education. As time went on, however, we realized there was a need for greater connection and mentorship in the New England area.
In 2024, we put on our first Spring Conference, Meet Charlotte Mason, and were surprised and delighted to connect with so many women interested in using Charlotte Mason's methods in their home schools. After the conference, we kept in touch with with many of these new friends. Eventually we were convinced of the need for a support structure for mentorship, fellowship, and further study of Mason's methods.
So we founded Charlotte Mason New England, a faith-based Charlotte Mason collaborative that helps CM educators find one another and provides regular opportunities to connect.
If you are a New England Area home educator, we would love to connect!

Charlotte Mason Study Group (CMSG)
WHO: The CMSG promotes Mother Culture through a community of parents that reads through a rotation of Charlotte Masonās volumes.
WHEN: We meet monthly in the homes of our gracious hostesses in various regional locations to discuss the assigned readings.
WHAT: We focus on one book at a time to examine deeply the wisdom and philosophy of the author. We offer mutual encouragement and support in our homeschooling journeys.
WHY: We are āwaking up to our duties and in proportion as mothers become more educated and efficient, they will doubtless feel the more strongly that the education of their children during the first six years of life (and beyond) is an undertaking hardly to be entrusted to any hands but their own. And they will take up as their professionāthat is, with the diligence, regularity, and punctuality which men (and women) bestow on their professional labours. That the mother may know what she is about, may come thoroughly furnished to her work, she should have something more than an acquaintance with the theory of education, and with those conditions of the childās nature upon which such theory rests. ā (Volume 1 pg. 2-3)
Join us to ākeep growing and filling our mindsā as we study the writings of Charlotte Mason. We have multiple regional groups in Mecklenburg County. To find a location near you or for more information, email us at ReedyCreekReview@gmail.com.

Nature Study Club
We are a group of Charlotte Mason home-schooling mothers and their children who meet bi-monthly during the academic year to study and appreciate nature together. We are based in Brazoria County and use the Handbook of Nature Study to guide our learning. After discussing our topic and an object lesson, children can play and explore the outdoors. Then, the group enjoys a sack lunch together.
This group is open to home-schooled students ages six and up and their younger siblings. This is not a drop-off program, there is no cost to attend, and lessons are taught from a Christian perspective.
