Mount Stewart, PE
We are a group of homeschooling moms who meet the first Monday of each month near Mount Stewart to discuss Charlotte Mason’s philosophy and methods.
We always start our meetings with a social time and a “show and tell” where we can share our favourite resources or ideas around a specific topic. Then we have a study time, discussing a book or a practical video.
We also have a small Charlotte Mason reference library available at our meetings.
Welcome, Mamas! We invite you to come and chat about all things Charlotte, ask questions, share resources, and discuss her volumes.
We meet every second Friday from 7:30-9:30 PM. Moms only, nursing babes welcome.
We read Mason's work with intention every month and gather to listen to how each is grappling with Mason's ideas. Taking turns hosting allows us to connect in comfort and confidentiality.
A greatness of thinking - or magnanimity, according to Mason - seasons our conversation. Essentially, when at odds, we "agree to disagree agreeably." We all homeschool differently and have different backgrounds, but we're committed to coming together to create meaningful, encouraging dialogue that seeks to understand Mason's ideas and one another.
As Mason wrote, education is truly an atmosphere, a discipline and a life. That children are whole persons. That the Holy Spirit is the Divine Teacher & we parents are co-collaborators in their education. That we mothers are being taught by the same means. As we seek to authentically interpret her work, we read with this lens in mind.
Welcome! We can't wait to learn alongside you ♥
Gathering interest in future events. My children and I would like to gather with a local community of Christian Charlotte Mason-style parents and students in NE Ohio to do nature walks, discuss books and eventually participate in folk dancing and other creative and pleasant activities, as we explore Truth, Beauty, and Goodness together.
We are a group of moms using Charlotte Mason's principles in our homeschools. We meet about once a month to discuss books on Miss Mason's principles. We are currently reading Volume 2: Parents and Children. We also meet for summer park days and occasional nature hikes.
This is a group for all Charlotte Mason homeschooling parents and students who are in Washington State. This group is centered in the greater Olympia area. All welcome, from brand new to Charlotte Mason ideology to long time learners. This is a place where we can make connections, schedule group activities, and gain insight and resources from each other. Low maintenance and friendly environment!
Event for parents
September 1, 2021 :: You're invited to join us for an evening of Mother Culture at the Phoenix Art Museum. The museum is free on Wednesdays for guests who enter between 3-7pm. Come and go as you'd like. Please look for our group on the second floor north wing, where we will take in the European and American collections. This would be a lovely opportunity to do picture study with other moms.
Welcome to our NOVA group! We are meeting 1-2 times/week at parks in North Vienna and Fairfax for extended outdoor play while we relax or discuss CM. We seek to be inviting of all backgrounds and ages whether you be a toddler, a highschooler, a retired homeschooler, a grandparent needing to get out, or just someone who wants to enjoy beautiful scenery. NOVA is a huge place and we seek to be an avenue for CM homeschoolers to find each other and start new local groups. Not sure CM is a fit for you? Perfect, come learn alongside us 🙂
Event for parents and students
Are you looking for some targeted encouragement and guidance in implementing the methods of Charlotte Mason in your school – something a bit more in-depth and private than a forum question or an email inquiry For 25 years I have enjoyed walking alongside others and helping them bind together the practice with the principles of a living education based on Mason’s philosophy of education. If only time and space would allow us to chat in my home with a warm cup of something you love to drink, amidst the books and things around which I am most comfortable! Perhaps we may still be able to arrange something special.
Please see my webpage for more information on how to go about setting up a private meeting with me either online or in-person!
Fort Collins, CO
I'm a CM (Ambleside Online) mom who leads a weekly hiking group for moms and kids in & around Fort Collins, CO. Some weeks we have 2 moms + kids, and some weeks we have 5-7 families joining us. Very low key, but consistent! Kids range in age from 4-10 ish, some hikes are stroller friendly and some are not. If hiking & nature study are your thing, we'd love for you to join us! (Thursdays at 1:30, year-round)
... your children will be like olive shoots around your table. " (Psalm 128:3)
We are a community of Charlotte Mason homeschooling mamas and children named "The Olives".
I started this group some years ago (with just one other family) when we moved to Johannesburg, South Africa. My prayer was to find community, to build friendships, to support each other and to learn together..
God has been faithful and we are now a community of nine families! Our group is blessed by so many different strengths and talents and each mama and child bring something precious to it.
We meet every second Friday for a couple of hours to sing folksongs, read poetry and to do nature study together.
Mums also meet for a monthly book study and we have family gatherings at the end of the year.
Living Books Library for parents and students
The Fisher Library at the Avenue is a living books library serving families in the Texas Hill Country since 2016. The library opened with Sunday Afternoon Conversations - discussions and sharings about living books. Beginning in the autumn of 2021, the library will begin hosting Book Flicks - an outdoor film series based on book titles housed in the library as well as a monthly story gathering for children featuring art and nature projects.
Group for students
The Avenue Kindergarten is a multi-aged kindergarten serving children ages 4-6 in the Texas Hill Country. The Avenue, a play-based kindergarten of the Charlotte Mason tradition, recognizes the fullness of each child and offers children rich nurturing through nature, art, literature, music and the cultivation of relationships with one other and within our community. Outdoor adventures, singing, poetry and play are some of the distinctives woven into the fabric of each day.
Homeschool group that meets to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Only 2 Charlotte-Mason style homeschoolers in the mix; always happy to welcome more!
We also have a living books library available to borrow from with many Ambleside Online selections.
The Truth, Beauty, Goodness Community (TBG) is our long-standing (over 14 years!), beauty-filled offering of a homeschool community built on one particular philosophy of education – that of Charlotte Mason. At different times, we have had all ages in our co-op, only elementary age students, and only high school students. We love to share and encourage others who wish to start learning cooperatives where many hands (teachers) make light work and allow moms to implement the fullness of a Charlotte Mason education.
Visit our webpage for more information and resources that we love to share! Presently, we have a Form 3-6 group (TBG Teens) and a Forms 1-3 group (Spreading the Feast).
A discussion group for educators to encourage and support each other in our journey to teach. Our readings are from the writings of Charlotte Mason.
PMEU stands for Parents Midwest Education Union and is a name we use to describe this group. It's a play on Charlotte Mason's PNEU - Parents' National Education Union, a resource arm for her schools.
Please email Karla Taber (email@example.com) or Sally Almodovar (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more info.
Our group has veteran Charlotte Mason homeschoolers as well as those new to the method - all are welcome! We meet in different homes each month and we take a break over the summer months.
This christian Charlotte Mason co-op meets twice a month for learning together through nature study, singing, geography, scouting and more. Additional activities for the whole family or moms only help build our community between co-op meetings.
I am looking to start an in-person book discussion group for Charlotte Mason moms. We will be diving into CM's volumes along with other Charlotte Mason focused books. I am hoping to help anyone looking for community but not a co-op, moms who are new to CM methods, or moms just wanting to dive deeper into a Charlotte Mason education not only for their kids but for themselves. I am looking to meet every 4-6 weeks. Meeting places may vary from coffee shops, libraries, parks, etc.
