Spread the Feast: Memphis Charlotte Mason Community

“We spread an abundant and delicate feast in the programmes and each small guest assimilates what he can” (Charlotte Mason, Vol. 6, p. 183).

Spread the Feast Community is a community for home educators and families in Shelby County and the surrounding areas interested in learning about the Charlotte Mason method and philosophy of education. Our primary goal is to be a place of encouragement for parents on their homeschooling journey, and to grow in community with one another.

We also provide learning opportunities for the children so they too can grow in community and friendship with one another. Spread the Feast is open to all that are interested in learning more about the Charlotte Mason method and philosophy of education. We welcome CM veterans, those transitioning to CM, those that are just beginning to learn about CM, those that are simply curious about CM, and everyone in between.

We host 2 book discussions a month- a daytime one for adults and kids of all ages and an evening one for parents and "babes in arms." We also have mother culture and family events, clubs (scouting, nature), nature outings, "early years" meet-ups, and more!

This year we are reading In Vital Harmony by Karen Glass.

Charlotte Mason Memphis

We have a reading and support group, called Tertulia, for moms that meets the second Thursday evening of each month, at 6:00 pm, in the Bartlett Public Library's meeting room. We read Mason's volumes and other related books. It's a time to connect, laugh, and deepen friendships as we grow in our understanding of Mason's philosophy.

CMM-Kids is our park day for kids, from littles to teens, and moms to form and grow friendships. We meet at a local park on the third Friday of each month at 10:30.

We also have a Facebook community for moms in the greater Memphis area who want to connect but may not be able to join us in person.

There are no fees or requirements to join our group.
