Lyon Acres Early Years Childcare Program

Lyon Acres Children’s House is a small, home-based full-time early childhood program for children ages 18 months–5 years in Willington, Connecticut, just minutes from UConn.

Inspired by Charlotte Mason’s view of early childhood, Lyon Acres offers a calm, relationship-centered environment where children spend their days outdoors in all seasons, participating in meaningful daily life, sharing meals together, engaging with living books, and moving through a steady, unhurried rhythm of play and exploration.

Children are cared for in a very small mixed-age group on a wooded property with a focus on nature connection, practical life experiences, gentle habits, imaginative play, and plenty of time outdoors before formal academics begin.

Lyon Acres was thoughtfully created for families seeking a slower and more grounded approach to the early years, including families who may later pursue homeschooling or other alternative educational paths.

Opening September 2026 with a small founding group.
