A Rich Inheritance

A Rich Inheritance is a community rooted in the educational principles of Charlotte Mason. We believe the purpose of education is to prepare children to be able to know, glorify, and enjoy God by putting them in touch with the truth, goodness, and beauty of His created world. We currently offer a Nature Club on Tuesdays and Mother's Charlotte Mason Book Club on the second Thursday of every month. We currently have children 5 and under attending the nature club but open to older students joining in.

Tallahassee, FL

Tallahassee Mother Culture Book Club

This group meets once a month to discuss books we are currently work through. We try to read in the literary tradition and read through a variety of genres, following a general model of Mason's mother's education course. Our goal is to build community, give accountability in continuing of our educations, and provide a place for discussion for the ideas found in what we read.

- Folk Festival
- Winter One-day Gathering
- Weekend Retreat

Mother’s Educational Course

Roots & Wings

At Roots & Wings, we nurture wonder, wisdom, and wholehearted learning in a peaceful, home-based setting. Inspired by the Charlotte Mason philosophy, this two-day co-op offers young children a gentle and rich introduction to learning through living books, habit formation, music, nature play, and hands-on exploration. This Fall 2025 we will be starting a Preschool/Kindergarten Group. Not to mention a Parent Reading Group.

Hempstead, NY

Long Island Christian Charlotte Mason Reading Group

We are a group of Christian Charlotte Mason homeschooling moms who have been reading the volumes together monthly since 2018. We meet once a month on Sunday night 7-9:30pm at our various homes throughout Nassau and Western Suffolk Counties. We get together with our kids for bi-monthly nature walks and other activities. If you are interested in the Charlotte Mason life, please contact me!

Arlington, TX

Commonplace of Arlington

This is a discussion and support group for parents who are interested in or are already using the philosophy of Charlotte Mason in their home school.

We will start in August of 2025 with "Start Here," a study guide by Brandy Vencel. This is a great study for new-comers to the philosophy, but it also has plenty to ponder for the experienced. We will have time each meeting to talk about what's happening in our own home schools and celebrate the good as well as share ideas for those trouble spots. Meetings will be one Saturday morning each month.

Reach out for more details and tell me why you are interested in joining a Charlotte Mason discussion group. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Truth, Beauty, and Goodness Co-Op

Join us in a Charlotte Mason Co-Op where we learn together areas such as Shakespeare, Hymn, Recitation, Art lessons, and much more. Parents come together to also read the volumes of Charlotte Mason in a monthly mother culture meeting. We meet the 1, 2, and 4th Friday's of the month. There is no monetary cost. The cost is teaching a subject and reading the volumes with us.

Ambleside-by-the-Sea

Ambleside-by-the-Sea is a parent-led, two-day-a-week homeschool collaborative providing students from preschool through high school years with a Charlotte Mason education. We use living books, narration, and short lessons that spread a wide “feast” across varied subjects. We seek to provide an environment that allows our children to come into direct contact with vital and living ideas from great minds, and to nurture students in forming relations with all that is about them in substance and idea: in words, music, art, science, nature, mathematics, and all that is good, true, and beautiful.

We cover subjects including:
Math Drill / Math Lab / Math Games
Natural History / Science / Nature Notebooking
U.S. History
Ancient History
Plutarch’s ‘Lives’ (Forms III & IV)
Children’s Plutarch (Form II)
Shakespeare
Literature
Geography / Map Drill / Map Making
Poetry / Recitation
Latin (Forms III & IV)
Music / Folk Dancing / Composer Study
Art / Artist Study
Handicrafts
P.E.: Swedish Drill

We also have additional events together as a community including three book club meetings each year for all ages, and one or two handicraft fairs.

Because our intent is to cover academic subjects as well as those subjects often considered “enrichment subjects,” we meet twice weekly and in some ways function similarly to a “university model school;" families can structure their days at home to fill in around the spines and core subjects we cover on our days together. Upper form students have several assignments to complete during their days at home, including literature and writing assignments, and science readings in preparation for science experiments done together.

Ambleside-by-the-Sea moms also meet monthly to read and discuss Charlotte Mason's volumes, and we are always happy to have more people join us!
