2024 Charlotte Mason Institute Gathering

Join us at our 2024 annual gathering from July 25-27, 2024, in Wilmore, Kentucky! This conference will be a time of exploration and growth as we unpack Charlotte Mason’s ideas on handwork, life skills, and the joy of making. We’ll study the impact of creative work and discuss how artistry connects to many areas of the feast, sometimes in surprising ways. Our sessions will honor the old and embrace the new, and of course, we’ll live out what we teach as makers of beautiful and useful things! We hope to see you there! Charlotte Mason Book Discussion, In Vital Harmony

Connect with likeminded mom's as we discuss the book, In Vital Harmony by Karen Glass. We will meet Tuesday, May 23rd & June 6th at 6:30 p.m. in Weaverville, N.C. The goal of the discussion will be to gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy of a Charlotte Mason education for our children and ourselves. She described her approach to education as, “Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life.” Members will purchase the book to read and are encouraged to take notes or jot down questions to bring to the discussion. During the meeting, we will take turns sharing our thoughts about the book, what we learned, and how we related to the material.

Please join us for Charlotte Mason Nature Study Days!

We meet at nature places and parks each Friday at 10 am. Each week we focus on a specific nature study topic.

We begin with a nature read aloud that is chosen to "reveal the sort of thing to be seen with curious eyes" and fill us with the desire to make new discoveries. Then, we take a nature walk or hike, nature journal, and work on a handicraft together.

We are a new-ish co-op that uses the Ambleside Online curriculum in our homeschools. 2022/2023 will be our second year meeting together. We meet together as a group weekly during the school year for Shakespeare, Nature Journal and Art study to name a few activities. During the summer we get together as friends to let the kids play and parents chat.
