The Children’s Gathering

The Children's Gathering is our Short Morning of Lessons for Charlotte Mason Families.

We gather together every Friday morning for Hymn Singing, Old and New Testament Bible Recitations, a Psalm Recitation, and a Poetry Recitation. We also have a lesson in Physical Geography, Swedish Drill, and Shakespeare, too!

Fieldwork Fridays

“Fieldwork” is essentially nature study. We get out in nature and explore it together! Fieldwork Fridays are a great place to connect with other homeschool families and learn about the Charlotte Mason approach to nature study. This is a relaxed group that welcomes homeschoolers that use any methodology in the home. Charlotte Mason experience and/or application is not needed to enjoy our group, it simply acts as a framework to aid in planning our outings and group activities!

We will meet in the Murray (Calloway County, KY) and/or Paris (Henry County, TN) areas. Please reach out with any questions and if you’d like to help get this group going strong!

Looking for friends in the Georgetown Texas area! My kids are 7 (boy)
5 (girl) and 1 (girl)! As of writing this in January 2024!
We dropped out of our hybrid school. We have a lot of friends there, but if you don’t go there, you don’t have any time to connect with friends outside of the school because the workload is so large. So we will be fully homeschooling next year but I want my kids to grow and have relationships with other children as they get older! It makes me really sad how hard it is to have solid relationships these days that actually last. Really wanting to find likeminded Bible believing Christians focused on raising their kids with truth, goodness, and beauty to sign kids up with friends to do sports together, open gyms, play and fun! And maybe if we’re studying the same time periods we could also work on school together!

At Live Oak Living Academy, we focus on training children how to learn rather than telling them what they should know. Who are we to say that we know everything? Our children were born in God's image just as we were and have the same ability to make connections between subjects. If we do not teach them how to strengthen this ability and learn for themselves, what is to prevent them from believing whatever they are told?

Here, at LOLA, we make it our mission to assist our parents in teaching their children right from wrong, training them to become habitual stewards of good self-discipline, and providing them with ideas in all fields of knowledge.

Monthly nature meet up/field trips for families in St. Pete. Adventures are within 1-1.5 hrs of St Pete but often much closer. We meet the first Monday of every month and explore a different park/preserve/etc.
