Charlotte, NC

New Leaf Cooperative

New Leaf is a cooperative preschool learning community that meets Wednesday mornings in the parks and wild spaces of the greater Charlotte area. Our aim is to encourage young children and their families to connect with nature and their sense of wonder through stories, songs, exploration, and play.

We welcome you to join us as we share our time, knowledge, and resources to create thoughtful gatherings and teachable moments.

Cottage Co-op

Cottage Co-op is a riches co-op for students aged 6 to 12 years old.

Our Friday meetings begin with gathering all together as families for
our folk song and hymn, announcements, and benediction.

Forms 1 & 2 enjoy time in Collective learning about a classic poet, artist,
and composer. Forms 1 & 2 also alternate weekly between nature study
or handicrafts. Both forms then end their co-op day with a game time
devoted to play, listening skills, and folk dances.

A typical Kinderleben class spends the first portion playing outside
making mud pies, rolling around in leaves, and searching for the largest
worms. We come inside to read stories and poems, recite a bible verse,
and learn new fingerplays. We might play with wooden train tracks or
clay, or practice sewing before all working together to clean up.

Open House – Learning pod for 1st -3rd graders

Dear family in Jesus, :)

My husband, Peter, is the teacher for this pod. He is trained under Ampleside. And Joanna is the mom who is hosting it in her home. You will find her lovely blog here: http://heartforchristschools.blogspot.com/2025/02/our-journey-with-glenbrook-christian.html.

The reason I’m excited to share this learning pod opportunity with families is because I think that they would appreciate its uniquely nurturing and Christ centered setting. Because it is very small, the children receive quality attention to help them flourish in every way. The learning experience encourages them to interact with Jesus in every moment and idea as they discover their full and beautiful design in His likeness.

Look forward to meeting you and your child in person! I will have the pleasure and honor to be spending time with the little ones during open house. I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for more than 15 years.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about this and please do share widely!

Nature Study Club

We are a group of Charlotte Mason home-schooling mothers and their children who meet bi-monthly during the academic year to study and appreciate nature together. We are based in Brazoria County and use the Handbook of Nature Study to guide our learning. After discussing our topic and an object lesson, children can play and explore the outdoors. Then, the group enjoys a sack lunch together.

This group is open to home-schooled students ages six and up and their younger siblings. This is not a drop-off program, there is no cost to attend, and lessons are taught from a Christian perspective.

Ocoee, FL

(West) Orlando, FL – Nature Group

Hi! We are a small and simple CM preschool nature group focused for ages 3-6 (siblings welcome!). We meet monthly on Thursday mornings at 10am to explore different parks/preserves/etc. mostly on the west side of Orlando, including Clermont, Winter Garden, Ocoee, etc.

Because our children are younger and not in formal lessons yet, the meetings are very casual with the children mostly just exploring, playing, and us enjoying the nature trails together while we encourage observation through modeling and simple game ideas Charlotte Mason provides in her Home Education Volume.

I hope this group can be a Christ-centered community for mothers and children as we seek to glorify God through our home education journey. Please reach out if you're interested, we'd love to have you join!
