Feast of Ideas Retreat: A Charlotte Mason Gathering
You are invited to experience beauty, goodness, and truth through the lens of Charlotte Mason’s philosophy of education at the Feast of Ideas Retreat: A Charlotte Mason Educational Gathering. Whether you are an experienced Charlotte Mason educator or you haven’t yet met Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, you are welcome to join us as we joyfully immerse ourselves in Charlotte Mason’s principles for education.
The 2026 Feast of Ideas Retreat plenary sessions will feature experienced Charlotte Mason educator and co-editor of Commonplace Quarterly, Mariah Kochis.
Plan to experience additional break-out sessions with speakers from Living Feast Collective! And, of course, no Charlotte Mason gathering would be complete without folk songs, folk dancing, picture study, nature study, book discussion, handicrafts, and a lively Shakespeare performance.
This retreat will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, 4:00pm until Saturday, January 17, 2026, 12:00pm, at The Crossing Retreat Center in Lexington, Nebraska.
Tallahassee Mother Culture Book Club
This group meets once a month to discuss books we are currently work through. We try to read in the literary tradition and read through a variety of genres, following a general model of Mason's mother's education course. Our goal is to build community, give accountability in continuing of our educations, and provide a place for discussion for the ideas found in what we read.
Long Island Christian Charlotte Mason Reading Group
We are a group of Christian Charlotte Mason homeschooling moms who have been reading the volumes together monthly since 2018. We meet once a month on Sunday night 7-9:30pm at our various homes throughout Nassau and Western Suffolk Counties. We get together with our kids for bi-monthly nature walks and other activities. If you are interested in the Charlotte Mason life, please contact me!
Commonplace of Arlington
Come and chat with us this year!
We are working through "Start Here," a study guide by Brandy Vencel. This is a great study for new-comers to the philosophy, but it also has plenty to ponder for the experienced. We will have time each meeting to talk about what's happening in our own home schools: celebrate the good and share ideas for those more-difficult spots. We meet two Saturdays each month and
have occasional outings and events for parents and children. Plans are also underway to start a brand new co-op in the Fall of 2026.
Reach out for more details and tell me why you are interested in joining a Charlotte Mason discussion group. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Charlotte Mason Study Group (CMSG)
WHO: The CMSG promotes Mother Culture through a community of parents that reads through a rotation of Charlotte Mason’s volumes.
WHEN: We meet monthly in the homes of our gracious hostesses in various regional locations to discuss the assigned readings.
WHAT: We focus on one book at a time to examine deeply the wisdom and philosophy of the author. We offer mutual encouragement and support in our homeschooling journeys.
WHY: We are ‘waking up to our duties and in proportion as mothers become more educated and efficient, they will doubtless feel the more strongly that the education of their children during the first six years of life (and beyond) is an undertaking hardly to be entrusted to any hands but their own. And they will take up as their profession—that is, with the diligence, regularity, and punctuality which men (and women) bestow on their professional labours. That the mother may know what she is about, may come thoroughly furnished to her work, she should have something more than an acquaintance with the theory of education, and with those conditions of the child’s nature upon which such theory rests. “ (Volume 1 pg. 2-3)
Join us to ‘keep growing and filling our minds’ as we study the writings of Charlotte Mason. We have multiple regional groups in Mecklenburg County. To find a location near you or for more information, email us at ReedyCreekReview@gmail.com.
