Humanitas Christian Fellowship

Humanitas exists to encourage and enrich homeschool families through Christ-centered fellowship, meaningful learning experiences, and opportunities that cultivate wisdom, virtue, wonder, and a love of learning.

Cost
There is no upfront cost to join. As we plan events throughout the year, families may choose to pitch in towards supplies, materials, or refreshments, but all contributions are voluntary (and very appreciated).

What is Humanitas? Humanitas is a Christian homeschool enrichment program that seeks to provide programs and events during the school year.

What is the goal? A To glorify Christ in all that we do by offering Christ-centered fellowship, family-friendly gatherings, living books and rich ideas, handicrafts and meaningful work, and ongoing encouragement and camaraderie for homeschool families.

Are we an academic program? No. Humanitas is not a weekly academic co-op. Rather, it brings families together through special events that cultivate a love of truth, goodness, and beauty while strengthening a Christ-centered homeschool community. It is not a drop-off program. We aim to provide monthly events and are looking forward to hosting a Recitation Assembly to kick off our school year in August. We will host events throughout the school year such as family hikes, a children's handicraft market, a Reformation Play, field day, etc. A full schedule can be provided. We are hosted by First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, TN.

Why is it called “Humanitas”? A Humanitas (hoo-MAH-ni-tahs) is a Latin word that describes the cultivation of the whole person. It reflects our commitment to helping children grow in wisdom, virtue, wonder, and a love of learning as they pursue truth, goodness, and beauty.
