CM Gathering & Book Club – Shelbyville, KY

The Shelbyville CM Together Gathering is a year-round cooperative for Christian homeschool families that are committed to the Charlotte Mason Philosophy of Education. It is our aim to implement the principles and methods of a CM Education, recognizing that every child is born a person; we therefore seek to educate that whole person, not just his mind. This is pursued by cultivating a Christian worldview, developing relations with all of God's creation, and practicing our belief that education is "an atmosphere, a discipline, a life."

We meet Thursday mornings at 9:30a at several parks in the greater Shelbyville area.

Here's our schedule for the 2025-2026 school year:
9:30a – Meet and Play (optional)
10:00a – Morning Studies
11:15a – Nature Walk
12:00p – Nature Journaling
12:15p – Lunch (optional)

Term 1 (Fall): September 4th – November 20th (will not meet 11/27)

Term 2 (Winter): December 4th – March 5th (will not meet 12/25 or 1/1)

Term 3 (Spring): March 12th – May 28th

Term 4 (Summer): June 4th – August 27th (will not meet 7/2)

Currently, our Book Club is meeting virtually on the 2nd Monday night of each month, from 7:30-9p. Starting in Feb. 2026, we will be reading through Mother Culture, by Karen Andreola.
