1. Purpose and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) governs the use of the Charlotte Mason in Community website at charlottemasonincommunity.com (“the Site”), including all features, forms, search tools, and communication mechanisms provided through the Site. By accessing or using the Site in any way, you agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, you must not use the Site.

The Site is a free community resource designed to connect homeschool families with local groups and events. Group and event leaders may create listings, and prospective participants may use the Site to discover and express interest in those groups through the provided contact forms.

2. Intended Use

The Site’s contact forms, messaging features, and communication tools are provided solely for the purpose of enabling prospective participants to express interest in a listed group or event and to share their contact information with the relevant group leader. Any use of these features for purposes other than this intended function is unauthorized.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Site, or any feature of the Site, to:

  • Commercial solicitation. Send unsolicited commercial messages, advertisements, or promotional materials of any kind to group leaders or other users through the Site’s contact forms or any other Site feature.
  • Competitive recruitment. Solicit, recruit, or attempt to divert group leaders, event organizers, or users to any competing service, platform, directory, or listing site.
  • Spam or bulk messaging. Send repetitive, bulk, or automated messages through the Site’s forms or features, whether commercial or otherwise.
  • Misrepresentation. Use the contact forms under false pretenses, including misrepresenting yourself as a prospective participant when your actual purpose is commercial, promotional, or competitive in nature.
  • Data harvesting. Scrape, collect, compile, or harvest any user data, group leader contact information, listing details, or other information from the Site by any means, whether manual or automated, for any purpose not expressly authorized by this Policy.
  • Automated access. Use bots, scripts, crawlers, scrapers, or any automated means to access or interact with the Site or its features without prior written permission.
  • Harassment or abuse. Harass, threaten, intimidate, or send abusive or offensive messages to any user, group leader, or event organizer through the Site.
  • Interference. Interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable burden on the Site’s infrastructure, servers, networks, or the experience of other users.
  • Circumvention. Attempt to circumvent any technical measures implemented to enforce this Policy, including but not limited to IP blocking, rate limiting, or CAPTCHA systems.

4. Enforcement and Remedies

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to take any action we deem appropriate in response to violations of this Policy, including but not limited to:

  • Issuing a warning to the violating party.
  • Temporarily or permanently blocking access to the Site.
  • Removing or disabling any listing, account, or content associated with the violation.
  • Reporting the conduct to relevant authorities or third parties as appropriate.
  • Pursuing any available legal remedies, including claims for damages and injunctive relief.

Violations of this Policy may constitute unauthorized access under applicable federal and state computer fraud statutes, trespass to chattels, tortious interference with business relationships, and/or violations of applicable anti-spam laws. We expressly reserve all rights and remedies available under law and equity.

5. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of this Policy at any time does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of our right to enforce it at a later time. We may choose to enforce this Policy selectively and at our sole discretion.

6. Monitoring and Logging

We reserve the right to monitor, log, and review use of the Site, including form submissions, for the purpose of enforcing this Policy, maintaining the security and integrity of the Site, and protecting our users. Logs of Site activity, including IP addresses, timestamps, and submission content, may be retained and used as evidence in any enforcement action or legal proceeding.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Charlotte Mason in Community, its owners, operators, affiliates, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or in connection with your violation of this Policy.

8. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Site. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

9. Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under this Policy shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
